Connection strings
How the proxy username selects the network, location and session.
One gateway serves both networks over HTTP and SOCKS5 on the same port:
gw.boxafox.com:8000What you get is decided by the username. It starts with your proxy user's name, followed by tokens:
<username>_net_<res|mob>[_c_<country>][_st_<state>][_city_<city>][_asn_<n>][_zip_<zip>][_os_<os>][_s_<session>][_ttl_<time>]The password is the proxy user's password, unchanged.
Examples
| Goal | Username |
|---|---|
| Residential, any country, new IP per request | acme_net_res |
| Residential, Germany | acme_net_res_c_de |
| Mobile, United States, same IP for 30 minutes | acme_net_mob_c_us_s_job42_ttl_30m |
| Residential, Berlin, Windows devices | acme_net_res_c_de_city_berlin_os_windows |
Rules
_net_is required:resfor residential, mobfor mobile.- Tokens can come in any order, each at most once.
- An unknown token, or a combination the network does not support, is refused with
bad_target. - Country codes are ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 in lowercase (
de,us). - State and city values are aliases: lowercase, ASCII, spaces written as
-.GET /v1/locations/residentialandGET /v1/locations/mobilereturn the exact alias to use.
Which tokens each network supports is in Targeting; sessions are in Sticky sessions.
Formats
GET /v1/residential/list and GET /v1/mobile/list build the strings for you. The format parameter chooses the shape:
format | Shape |
|---|---|
standard (default) | host:port:username:password |
http | http://username:password@host:port |
https | https://username:password@host:port |
socks5 | socks5://username:password@host:port |
socks5h | socks5h://username:password@host:port (the proxy resolves hostnames) |
The gateway's host and port are also in GET /v1/me under gateway.
Limits at the gateway
- Up to 500 connections at the same time per account by default; your value is
limits.concurrencyinGET /v1/me. - Mail ports (25, 465, 587, 110, 143, 993, 995) and private IP ranges are blocked.
- A connection is closed when the network's data balance reaches zero.
